Design for a Painting

Sometimes I get a request for a painting, which I always find challenging to do, because you are often restricted in choosing colours and design. The challenging part is to find a composition everybody is happy with.
In this case they asked for an abstract figures painting. I came up with the idea to paint the figures as a family. They (as parents) in the middle and their son and daughter on either side. Later I incorporated their children’s initials (B & M) into the figures. (See picture below)

In the end they were very happy with the painting and that makes every frustration worthwhile!
