Art Journal Summer into Autumn
I like the seasons we have in The Netherlands. I love observing the changes in nature. All seasons have their own qualities. At this moment we are going from Summer into Autumn. In the middle of the page I cut a circle half open and wrote on the next (black gessoed) page "Van Zomer", which means "From Summer".  On the back of the circle I wrote "Naar Herfst", meaning "Into Autumn". This is a close-up photo:

I must admit this page was a bit of a struggle. The blue sky was all around the tree and there was green between the roots. The colors were not working for me, so I cut a big part off....
I used a (tiny) bit of the blue paper for making a few raindrops, because fall also means rain! For the tree I used a stencil I made for gelli printing. At first I thought "is it worth the trouble of cutting", but now I am happy I did. You can use a tree in many different ways! Or even parts of it!  The photo below shows the complete tree stencil,  because I "closed" the circle.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love your beautiful tree! Yes, your cutting efforts were well worth it.
