This is a very special painting to me. It is about my father's life journey. You literally can see the path he has taken. Early in his life he had an accident that handicapped him, a horse carriage ran over his hip. So the car in the painting represents the accident but also the various (horse) carriages he made later on in his life. In my father's workshop I found most of the materials used in this painting. As he was a smoker all his life, I made the little house out of an old cigar tin box. The "trees" are old filing tools. The edge of the sun and the birds in the sky are made of...
